Berahmand
Berahmand
Berahmand, is a Portland based recording artist who is quickly gaining a reputation for his high energy live shows that blend Rock & Roll , New Wave, and Soul into a cleverly fused dance sound. As an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, he purposefully self produced his debut album “Empress” on past production stylings involving dated digital devices, cassette tapes and plenty of classic analog flavor. Within moments listen, one can quickly identify an early Prince, David Bowie, Blondie , and the Rolling Stones to name a few. A one of a kind artist that aims to invite you in and move you; Berahmand and his band will definatly do just that!

Andrew Paul Woodworth
Andrew Paul Woodworth was signed to Sony Records in the late 90’s.The first on the new roster of Jeff Ayeroff’s and Jordan Harris’ The Work Group, Woodworth led his band Elephant Ride into the studio with legendary bassist John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin. While the result was a beautiful and sweeping arrangement of angsty, melodic rock, it failed to capture the attention it deserved.
Woodworth, along with Elephant Ride guitarist Dave Martin, then formed Los Angeles staple Virgil. The band was one of the pioneers of the DIY movement and quickly built a large following based on high energy rock shows and well crafted songs.
Woodworth began a solo career in 2007 on the heels of a reimagined cover of the Beastie Boys' Fight for Your Right. This haunting and moody version of a hip hop classic was heard on the hit TV show One Tree Hill and Woodworth was signed to Rodeostar Records based in Germany.
Woodworth tour all over the UK and throughout Europe opening for bands like Sheryl Crow, Deep Purple, Maroon Five and Thin Lizzy.
Woodworth just released his fourth solo album on ML1 Records. Drinks To Sleep is a collection of quirky, sometimes sad, sometimes flippant heartache.
It’s not a “poor me” album nor is it a pat on the back. Woodworth is backed by Portland’s most accomplished musicians and the result is as intense as it is fun, as hopeful as it is sad.......it lies somewhere in the middle world....the world of a man perhaps stuck but certainly not done. The songs seek to understand life after love lost and where dreams are broken and crooked. Drinks to Sleep is not an indictment and it has no interest in pursuing guilt or blame. For “there is no one to blame in this world,” insists Woodworth, “because it is everyone’s fault, the good and the bad.”
Hawks And Doves
Gared O'Donnell laid waste for ten years with PLANES MISTAKEN FOR STARS. Alongside this monolithic band, he was sequestered in his down time, haha, working on new ideas. These ideas slowly took shape and became HAWKS AND DOVES. The first evidence was the closing track on the final PMFS album. A haunting, eerie heart stopper that the band demanded be fleshed out and added to the album. At points, H&D has been Gared alone, acoustic in hands, blue-eyed soul through a belt sander. Along the way, Gared has recorded in different parts of the country with various friends, people he had played with past and present. This record sets the tone, but I guarantee the upcoming album with drop you, roundhoused. The A-side is the full-band version of "Hush Money", which includes two PMFS alumni: Mongo on the drums and original bass player Aaron, pulled out of retirement. (An acoustic version of this song was included on the FREE compilation THE FEST 7.) The B-side is a haunting Bruce Springsteen cover, recorded in Gainesville with Matt Sweeting on bass (Assholeparade, Strikeforce Diablo), Chad Darby on guitar (Averkiou), and Danny Welsh on drums (Army of Ponch). The future? H&D is in the middle of recording an album. Gared has recruited George Rebelo (Hot Water Music) on drums and Chad Darby (Averkiou) on bass, guitar, and reverb. Special guests have contributed vocals, cello, and the like as well. You have been warned! --Var.
