Swansea
Swansea
Swansea combines artful narratives and a sweeping, atmospheric sound with a touch of dancey, off-the-cuff toughness, and have been compared to bands such as LCD Soundsystem, David Bowie and Santigold. In 2012, the three-piece released their first full-length album, Old Blood, and completed two tours of the western United States.
Us Lights
Us Lights
Back in September of 2013, I went to see Porcelain Raft at Bunk Bar, and on a rare occasion, the local opener happened to pique my interest. Us Lights were just sprouting (formed in summer of 2013) , but the five-piece already possesed that unquantifiable trait - they sound like Us Lights, and not a cheap imitation of established artists. Layers of textures from moody synths, steadfast rhythm section, stadium-worthy vocals, and an intricate sampling create an atmospheric pop that is intangible yet tantalizing." -- Autumn Andel, Prefix Magazine

"Us Lights, is a newish dark-pop band from members of the Brothers Young and Hurtbird (among lots of other Portland bands). "Sometimes Smile" is an eerie but propulsive number that conjures an intricate spiral pattern like a spider's web. There's tons of atmosphere here, with muscly bass and cannon-like drums providing a sturdy foundation to the more ethereal, water-drop elements." -- NED LANNAMANN, Portland Mercury

LiquidLight (Album Release)
“We aren’t so loud, that you can’t hear us” guides the multi-layered vision of LiquidLight. In an age where popular culture pushes to “out extreme” the latest and greatest, LiquidLight is an Alternative/Hard Rock band that pursues balance and clarity with respect to great rock tradition. With a high standard of execution, strong melody and elements of psychedelic and alternative influences, the music conveys a new, yet referential optimism.
LiquidLight's last two EP releases have explored elements of Classic Rock, Prog, Shoegaze, and Alt/Power Pop (Beatles, Yes, MBV, Guided by Voices). Their upcoming first full length album, "Uninitiated" explores an edgier side of these influences, including more of a post-punk/alternative angle from bands like Husker Du and The Replacements.
- "LiquidLight kind of sound like you’re tripping acid with REM while listening to a mix of Replacements and Pink Floyd records. It is psychedelic rock informed by power pop from the likes of Big Star and performed with a keen ear for melody." - Eleven Mag PDX
