Jason Traeger
Jason Traeger
Jason Traeger has been called “the hot, new 40-something face of Portland Stand-up” Two years after his arrival on the scene his friendly, lysergic style earned him a spot as a finalist in Helium Comedy Club's 2014 Portland's Funniest Person contest. That same year he was invited to curate and host a night of Stand-up for the TBA:14 Festival, the city's premiere arts event. During his run hosting the “Get up, Stand up” series at Mississippi Studios, Jason shared the stage with some of the best and brightest comics working today. In addition to his comedy, Traeger works as a visual artist and photographer. Over the course of two years he has collected more than 2,000 of his photos of the scene on his blog, Portland Stand-up Comedy Photo Album.

Traeger has released his music on Kill Rock Stars and K records. He has exhibited visual art at the Tate Modern in London.

He is a regular at Helium Comedy Club and is co-host of New Deal Distillery's Comedy and Cocktails Stand-up series.
JoAnn Schinderle
JoAnn Schinderle
JoAnn Schinderle hails from the upper Midwest and despite being a Portlander now, will probably never lose her “hot dish” accent. (Hot Dish ingredients include but are not limited to: Beef, noodles, cream of mushroom soup, tater tots, and an iron clad stomach).

JoAnn was recently a finalist in Portland’s Funniest Person Contest 2015 and has performed across the country in such festivals as Bumbershoot, Bridgetown Comedy Festival, Chicago Comedy Exposition, SF Sketchfest (‘16,‘15,‘14), Hell Yes Fest, All Jane No Dick Comedy Festival (‘13,‘14), Out of Bounds Comedy Festival, as well as having won multiple rounds of Competitive Erotic Fan Fiction. Schinderle has been known to win crowds over with her pervy charm. JoAnn also had the honor of opening for Lena Dunham on her ‘Not That Kind of Girl’ book tour in a sold out show at Portland’s Newmark Theatre.

As a working stand-up at Helium Comedy Club- Portland, her humor is relatable, snarky, and has a storytelling style that will make you feel like she’s your best friend letting you in on a secret. Also trained as an improvisor through courses at Second City Training Center and Curious Comedy Theater, JoAnn creates big characters and will “yes and” the shit out of you. JoAnn has appeared on Rooftop Comedy, Fight Stigma Web Series, and is a contributing writer for Laugh Staff. She also hosts, curates, and produces a weekly showcase called Control Yourself: A Showcase of Funny, which has been featured as 'Top 5 Portland Comedy Showcases to Watch’ 2years running by the Willamette Week. Control Yourself (which was also featured in Paste Magazine) runs every Sunday at Alberta Street Pub in NE Portland.

Laryssa Birdseye
Laryssa Birdseye
Laryssa Birdseye is a singer songwriter based out of Portland Oregon. Self described as a folk singer with heavy pop and soul influences, her music is not tied down to simply one genre. Many years ago, she stole her older brother’s guitar, picked up a Beatles anthology book, and taught herself how to play. After realizing her adolescent attempts at writing poetry were best paired with music, a lifelong relationship with songwriting was born.

Having struggled with addiction and an eating disorder for the better part of a decade, Laryssa’s songs reflect the turmoil of heartbreak, dependency, regret, and the persistent strive towards recovery and healing. Heavily influenced by legendary female songwriters Amy Winehouse, Joni Mitchell, and Ani Difranco, Laryssa is not one to be overlooked. Watch for her debut album, “So What” coming in summer of 2017.
