Cosmic Rose
Cosmic Rose
Cosmic Rose, an eclectic 5-piece based in Portland, Oregon, is a band that gets people moving! By blending elements of funk, rock, and reggae, Cosmic Rose creates a sound all their own, combining luscious 3-part vocal harmonies with driving grooves to get the crowd jumping. Their original songs, with strong melody and positive message, will draw you in to an intentional and authentic dance floor experience.
What began spontaneously as an acoustic duo playing cover songs to feature the lead vocals and Ukulele of Lauren Rose MacKay, quickly evolved to include the saxophone and original compositions of Nathan Carver Smith, and the solid rhythm section of Charlie MacGill (guitar, backing vocals), Mike Novak (Bass), and Chris Koroshetz (drums).

Since releasing their debut self-titled EP in September 2015, Cosmic Rose has been producing events with some of Portland’s finest bands, as well as providing local support for touring acts. Cosmic Rose has played at excellent Portland venues like Goodfoot Pub and Lounge and McMenamen’s White Eagle, as well as performing live on KBOO Community Radio and at other festivals and gatherings like Village Building Convergence.

With an energetic presence and collaborative interplay, Cosmic Rose has developed improvisational communication in their music, weaving songs together and creating a dynamic experience that is not to be missed!
Redwood Son
Redwood Son
Redwood Son has done a great deal of growing up since being named Portland Music Awards’ “Best New Artist” in 2011. The road will do that to a person and, with 60k miles under his belt over the past 3 years, there is a new-found focus for 2015. The songs recorded for the new release (with producer Steve Berlin of Los Lobos) promise to bring a more mature approach to some timeless folk tunes. Expect vintage tones with contemporary stylings; you may even hear a few dusts of country music. Life brings tragedy, and those bleed feelings. Redwood Son is not one to run from the woes that come along from time to time, and he’s also not afraid to speak his mind about it. The future is bright for this local old-soul, now considered a veteran of the Pacific Northwest music scene.
Lariza Sisters
Lariza Sisters
Known for melodic diversity, the Lariza Sisters pour their lush and heartfelt harmonies into the northwest music scene. Swinging their smoky-sweet voices from moody and dynamic ballads to gritty country flecked gems; their songs have no reservations. With their backing band- CORNER, a new album in the works, and an everything-but-the-kitchen-sink approach, the Lariza Sisters are bound to surprise you.
Laryssa Birdseye
Laryssa Birdseye
Laryssa Birdseye is a singer songwriter based out of Portland Oregon. Self described as a folk singer with heavy pop and soul influences, her music is not tied down to simply one genre. Many years ago, she stole her older brother’s guitar, picked up a Beatles anthology book, and taught herself how to play. After realizing her adolescent attempts at writing poetry were best paired with music, a lifelong relationship with songwriting was born.

Having struggled with addiction and an eating disorder for the better part of a decade, Laryssa’s songs reflect the turmoil of heartbreak, dependency, regret, and the persistent strive towards recovery and healing. Heavily influenced by legendary female songwriters Amy Winehouse, Joni Mitchell, and Ani Difranco, Laryssa is not one to be overlooked. Watch for her debut album, “So What” coming in summer of 2017.
