Metts, Ryan, & Collins
Metts, Ryan, & Collins
If your idea of a real rock band for the 21st century is one that blends the swagger and bluesy elements of classic bands like The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin and Humble Pie, alongside more recent bands like The White Stripes, Black Keys and Rival Sons, then let me introduce you to the power trio from Portland Oregon - Metts Ryan & Collins.

Metts Ryan & Collins are: Geoff Metts (vocals/guitar), Dain Ryan (bass/vocals) and Mike Collins (drums/vocals). All three members of the band are veterans of the Portland music scene and individually have an impressive list of accomplishments under their belt. Together they've created a buzz in the Pacific Northwest playing sold-out shows and featured performances on music showcases "Northwest Roots", "Portland Radio Project", "PDX Spotlight" and the international travel show "Next Stop". In addition, their song "Oregon" has been featured during the home games of the NBA team The Portland Trailblazers.

Their self-titled debut, was recorded in Portland, OR using old-school techniques and gear – loud and live to analog tape in one big room. “We wanted to capture the band in a great sounding studio and concentrate on making the best use of the fewest tracks”, says singer/guitarist Geoff Metts. “Everybody has access to digital recording and limitless tracks, they can quantize them and auto tune them, but the result often sounds stale. We went the other way recording live to tape capturing the highest fidelity tracks with as few overdubs and edits as possible”. MRC took the analog idea further by releasing the music on vinyl records as well as discs and downloads. Since the 2015 release the band is promoting the album through festival and club dates including the MOGO festival in November 2015 and The Whisky a Go Go in Jan 2016.

With over 2 decades in the music biz, Kevin Hahn has done just about everything. From engineering international recording projects (Scorpions, Paul Gilbert, Portland Trail Blazers) to award winning music productions. As a performer, Kevin has spent many years as a "hired gun" guitarist (Animotion, Dilana, Kleveland) and recently handles the lead vocal duties for the popular tribute act Stone In Love (Journey). In 2015, Kevin felt it was time to get back to writing and expressing his own voice and thoughts. With the help of Geoff Metts, the pair spent half a year writing and sketching out ideas for the new songs. With the rhythm section of Dain Ryan and Mike Collins completing the quartet, 2016 was spent cultivating the sound of the band and the new album. K. Hahn is currently performing in support of his 2017 release of "Into Oblivion".
Andrew Paul Woodworth
Andrew Paul Woodworth
Andrew Paul Woodworth's voice might perhaps be described as the love child of Michael Jackson, Eddie Vedder and Jeff Buckley: emotional and entranced by melody, but never soft or powerless. Eddy Ate Dynamite reveals Woodworth as a man addicted to harmony through and through.

It presents a kaleidoscope of different styles of playing within Pop and Songwriting. From light-on-its-feet and radio-worthy to introverted and melancholy and on to playfully complex harmony lines enhanced by suggestive horn arrangements, Woodworth pulls out all the stops time and again in order to find new approaches for his songs. Remarkably, a certain lightness weaves its way through all the tracks that enables listeners to lean back and enjoy.
