Fog Father
Fog Father
Fog Father initially began as a studio project by Bryson Hansen in 2012 consisting of pop and soul grooves created with toy keyboard, choral arrangements and tape recorder sound effects. Eventually the recordings found their way into a live format featuring Hansen playing guitar and singing over densely packed rhythm tracks and sound collage played back on an old tape machine. With the help of longtime collaborator David Rosman, a full live ensemble was put together featuring Thomas Burke (Bass), Marty Walsh (Drums), David Rosman (Guitar) and Bryson Hansen (Synths, Sound Effects and Lead Vocals).

At it's heart, Fog Father's music is definitely Pop, but it is also coded with Jazz, Doo-Wop and low-brow Avant Garde musings. The songwriting is rooted in late night studio tinkering, focusing heavily deconstructed dance grooves and old-school balladry. While Hansen continues to act as the initial spark and compass for new Fog Father material and arrangements, the group works together to produce live and recorded foggy bliss.

Homemade mythologies and spooky themes are deeply embedded within the Fog Father world. Boasting a Cone shape as their magick power, Fog Father spin together coordinated costume designs and surreal props based on patterns and references to science-fiction and the occult. Fog Father vibes on the absurd, spooky, far-out, strange Cone Universe.

In 2014, Fog Father released their debut EP "Razzle-Dazzle" through local Portland label Track & Field Records. In the year and a half since, they've been performing to support the release and self-producing their follow up release entitled "The Plague of Cones". Fog Father hope to celebrate the new release in Spring of 2016.
